 Welcome to Maureen's Bed and Breakfast, your vacation paradise located just steps from the beach, minutes from Hilo's finest downtown attractions, and only 30 miles from Volcanoes National Park! Built in 1932, the charming Saiki mansion reflects an informal meeting of East and West. The comfortable living room, with vaulted ceiling, arched windows and redwood paneling, is relaxed and casual. Our formal Japanese tea room overlooks peaceful koi ponds and a landscaped botanical garden. The sounds of the nearby surf beckon you to the beach; our comfortable accommodations and delicious breakfasts create a warm, relaxing, tropical home. Our two friendly canine residents will happily welcome you. Our guest
bedrooms have semiprivate baths. Two very large upstairs rooms have king
size beds and boast mountain views of Mauna Kea. Two adjoining single
rooms are just off the balcony. Our downstairs rooms are bright and
cheery, and offer the relaxing sounds of ocean surf.
Breakfast is generous and satisfying. It includes our favorite island specialties (the waffles are wonderful) with macadamia nuts, fresh tropical fruits and steaming Kona coffee - the only coffee raised and roasted in the United States. Rates include breakfast. Single rooms are $50/night. Double rooms with
semiprivate baths are $75/night. Double rooms with private bath are
$100/night. Children must be at least 7. Cash, personal checks and
